Privacy Policy
Plain and specific
You're installing a bridge app and a Remote Script into your music rig. You deserve to know exactly what moves where.
Overview
MaestroSuite is an iPad control surface for Ableton Live. The core product is local-first: the iPad app talks to MaestroBridge on your Mac, and MaestroBridge talks to Ableton Live through the Maestro Ableton Remote Script.
We designed MaestroSuite to collect as little personal data as possible. The core control-surface experience does not require us to receive your Ableton project files, audio, stems, or recordings. This policy explains what stays local, what may be sent to service providers when you use optional features, and how to contact us about your data.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to:
- Visitors to the MaestroSuite website.
- People who join the beta, mailing list, or support channels.
- Users of the MaestroSuite iPad app.
- Users of MaestroBridge for macOS.
- Users of optional MaestroSuite AI, voice, diagnostics, or support features.
This policy does not cover Ableton Live, Apple, Deepgram, Anthropic, Stripe, TestFlight, or any other third-party service. Their own privacy policies apply when you use their services.
What stays local
The following data is used to make MaestroSuite work, but is intended to stay on your iPad, Mac, USB connection, or local network during normal core control-surface use:
- Ableton track names.
- Clip names, clip colors, clip states, scene names, and playback state.
- Tempo, transport state, meter values, mixer values, send values, and device parameters.
- Maestro workspace layouts, pages, controls, mappings, snapshots, and routines saved locally.
- MIDI, OSC, and Ableton control messages exchanged between the iPad app, MaestroBridge, the Remote Script, and Ableton Live.
MaestroSuite does not copy, upload, sell, or train on your Ableton project files, project audio, stems, samples, or recordings as part of core control-surface use.
Information you provide
We may collect information that you choose to give us, including:
- Email address, name, or handle when you join the beta, mailing list, or support queue.
- Support messages, bug reports, screenshots, screen recordings, diagnostics, or log files you choose to send.
- Purchase, license, or account information if MaestroSuite uses direct licensing outside the App Store.
- Messages or feedback you send through email, forms, beta platforms, Discord, GitHub, or similar support channels.
We use this information to provide access, answer support requests, manage beta feedback, send product updates you requested, handle purchases or licensing where applicable, and improve MaestroSuite.
Website data
When you visit the MaestroSuite website, your browser may automatically send technical data that is necessary to load the site, such as:
- IP address.
- Browser type and version.
- Operating system.
- Referring page.
- Pages requested.
- Date and time of the request.
The website may also use basic cookies or similar browser storage for required site functions, security, analytics, or form handling.
MaestroBridge and local network access
MaestroSuite needs local network or USB access to connect the iPad app to MaestroBridge on your Mac. MaestroBridge is the macOS companion app that discovers the iPad app, relays messages, and installs or reinstalls the Ableton Remote Script.
Local network communication may include session metadata from Ableton Live, such as track names, clip state, parameter names, and current values. This data is used to make the iPad control surface mirror your active Live Set. It is not sent to MaestroSuite servers during normal local control-surface use.
Microphone, voice, and AI features
Voice and AI features are optional. Core MaestroSuite control does not require voice commands or AI generation.
If you use optional voice input or AI routine generation during the beta:
- Voice audio may be sent to MaestroSuite's Cloudflare Worker and forwarded to Deepgram for speech-to-text transcription.
- Text prompts, selected session vocabulary, and generated routine context may be sent to MaestroSuite's Cloudflare Worker and forwarded to Anthropic for language interpretation or script generation.
- Provider API keys are handled server-side and are not stored in the iPad app.
- The app does not send Ableton project audio, stems, or full project files through these AI endpoints.
Do not enter private, confidential, unreleased, or legally sensitive material into beta AI prompts unless you are comfortable with that material being processed by these third-party services.
Diagnostics and crash reports
Diagnostics are intended to be user-initiated. If you choose to send a report, it may include:
- App version and build number.
- iPad model and iPadOS version.
- Mac model and macOS version.
- Ableton Live version and edition.
- MaestroBridge version.
- Recent MaestroSuite app events.
- MaestroBridge logs.
- Ableton Remote Script log excerpts.
- Crash reports, stack traces, or performance diagnostics.
- Screenshots or screen recordings you attach.
Diagnostics are used to reproduce bugs, improve reliability, and answer support requests. Do not attach project files, unreleased audio, private client material, or sensitive personal information unless support specifically asks for it and you are comfortable sharing it.
Purchases, licensing, and app stores
If MaestroSuite is distributed through Apple's App Store or TestFlight, Apple may process purchase, account, device, and beta participation information under Apple's own terms.
If MaestroSuite uses direct purchases, subscriptions, license activation, or payment processing outside the App Store, we may collect the minimum information needed to provide that service, such as email address, license status, transaction identifiers, and account identifiers. Payment card details should be processed by the payment provider, not stored by MaestroSuite.
Analytics
MaestroSuite should not collect analytics unless the product clearly discloses them and provides the required user choice.
If app analytics are enabled, the preferred model is privacy-preserving, opt-in analytics that are not used for advertising and are not linked to personal identity. Possible analytics may include app version, device type, OS version, feature usage counts, crash state, or setup completion state.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use Ableton session data for advertising. We do not use Ableton project files, project audio, stems, or recordings to train AI models.
Service providers
We may use service providers to operate MaestroSuite and related services. They may process data only as needed to provide their service to us.

Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, unless a longer period is required by law, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution needs.
| Data type | Retention |
|---|---|
| Beta signup or mailing-list email | Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it |
| Support messages | As long as needed to handle support and maintain support history |
| Diagnostics and crash reports | 90 days unless needed for an active investigation |
| Voice audio sent for beta transcription | Not intentionally retained by MaestroSuite after processing |
| AI prompts and transcripts routed through beta services | Not intentionally retained by MaestroSuite beyond operational logs needed for debugging and abuse prevention |
| Purchase or license records | As long as needed for access, refunds, accounting, tax, and legal obligations |
| Website server logs | Kept as short as practical for security and operations |
Provider retention may differ. Deepgram, Anthropic, Apple, payment providers, and other third-party services apply their own policies to data they process.
Your choices
You can:
- Use core MaestroSuite control features without using optional AI or voice features.
- Deny microphone permission in iPadOS settings; this disables voice input.
- Use USB instead of WiFi where supported.
- Unsubscribe from marketing or beta update emails.
- Choose not to send diagnostics, screenshots, recordings, or logs.
- Request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal data we control.
Some requests may limit our ability to provide support, beta access, purchases, licenses, or account-related services.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal data. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is perfectly secure. For live performance and studio use, avoid sending confidential project material through support or beta AI prompts unless necessary.
International processing
MaestroSuite users may be located in different countries. Service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Children's privacy
MaestroSuite is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as MaestroSuite changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate, such as on the website, in the app, or by email.
